Being the oldest, I was the first to take on the college application process and y’all really helped lay everything out about what needed to be done and when. Also helping me realize what was most important in my college experience and personalizing my plan of action was very helpful!!
Notes from the campus
- Some of my favorite things about Clemson are the family like community and traditions that have been passed down. I also really appreciate the natural beauty of our campus and its surroundings!
- My first football game as a Tiger was definitely an unforgettable experience!

I was pretty self-motivated through the college search process, but having the guidance of a college planning team in narrowing down my options and setting goals was extremely helpful. Many students are so worried about their own stats and applications that they don’t put as much thought into fully weighing their options, and the team definitely helped me take a step back and try to envision myself as a student at each college I was considering.
Notes from the campus
- I really appreciate the campus layout and the college town feel. The campus is huge and the residential, academic, and downtown-ish areas are well distinguished. I also really like how academically focused it is, especially for a large public school. It feels serious without being suffocating or competitive, and there’s still plenty of room for the fun Big 10 school activities that you can lean into as much or as little as you’d like without judgment
- I’ve really enjoyed meeting people from all over the world and from different backgrounds. There is definitely a large in-state population, but those who aren’t from Indiana are from everywhere you could imagine. I have also appreciated the resources for engineering students. Looking for research, internships, study abroad, etc. is super easy and there’s always someone to talk to, which is definitely a benefit of a large school.

I am so incredibly thankful for the essay wording help and the connections that Quinlan College Consulting already had. For example, I had a lot of good ideas for what to write about, but college planning work helped me to organize those thoughts and effectively convey the ideas of who I was through the college essay. Also the personality test was super helpful in helping me know that a smaller school is where I would flourish best in, which has proven to be so true and something I am thankful for everyday. Regarding the connections, I initially got deferred from TCU, and later got accepted, received a scholarship, and got into the honors college, and I was able to know where my application could be improved thanks to the calls that Mr. Quinlan made to ask about why the decision was initially made. The confidence with which they approached navigating the college decision and applications, was so helpful not only for me, but also my parents, and I feel so thankful for Quinlan College consulting for helping walk with us through it all!
Notes from the campus
-
I absolutely love how familial and friendly so many people are. Not only are so many of my peers like this, but also a majority of my professors! It makes me feel so welcome no matter where I go, and it makes meeting people something I look forward to almost everyday! And, TCU is also small enough to where I run into so many people, and it’s fun to spontaneously have a sit down meal with a friend just because they also happened to be in the dining hall at the same time! I’ve even gotten to get close with our security officers, which is super sweet.

I got an opportunity to work at KinderFrogs, which is an early intervention program that provides developmentally appropriate education for children with Down syndrome! KinderFrogs is actually a part of the College of Education that is a part of TCU’s campus, which I genuinely feel so excited to be involved in, because that is something so special about TCU- we include a lot of our Fort Worth community in almost everything we do as a university!

One of my favoroite things I remember working with Quinlan College Consulting was the essay writing workshop- it was so helpful. I also loved our one on one meetings where we could discuss all of the things that I wanted out of a college experience as well as having someone there who had experience in working in college admissions and knew all of the unique things about the college application process.
Notes from the campus
-
Some of my favorite things about Furman are the beautiful campus, the tight-knit community, the ability to connect with professors on a deeper level, and the ability to get heavily involved both on campus and in the greater community.
-
Some unique experiences I have had include close professor relationships where professors will take me out to lunch, having access to the swamp rabbit trail which is connected to travelers rest and downtown greenville and this being apart of campus, and MayX experiences: a 4 week long study abroad – I went to France, Germany, Finland and Italy.

I knew nothing about the selective application process for college before we began and it was nice to have someone so much more knowledgeable than myself in our corner. My daughter personally applied to 13 different colleges of various shapes and sizes, many of which I had never heard of before Mickey’s recommendation, and she ended up exactly where she needed to be and is thriving. He really took the time to understand my daughter’s learning style and academic goals for college and tailored his recommendations just for her. Mickey’s insight and personalized guidance was invaluable and he sent us down paths we would not have taken with such confidence otherwise.
Notes from the process
- From my daughter’s perspective, even though she is truly an exceptional writer, she found the essay writing assistance to be the most helpful. (It was nice to have someone other than me to hold her accountable for deadlines and revisions.)
- I recommend Quinlan College Consulting for any student and/or family looking for help through the admissions process and hope you have just as favorable of an outcome that we’ve had.

The whole process of applying to colleges can be so overwhelming. But, Mickey’s supportive help made the task less daunting. He proved to be the perfect sounding board for ALL my questions and concerns and was always both attentive and encouraging.

Trey and I used Quinlan College Consulting with both of our children, and Mickey and his team made the college application process feel far less daunting. Their unique, step-by-step approach made it much easier to navigate and understand the school application process. From personality and interest assessments that helped narrow college options to hands-on guidance with essay writing, everything worked together to create a more manageable experience. There was consistent communication with both us and our children, ensuring no one fell behind or missed important deadlines. By removing parents as the driving force, the process created a more peaceful home environment during an otherwise stressful time. Both of our children have found great success in college, and it has been amazing to watch them pursue their goals. Thank you to Mickey and his entire team for helping us through the college transition process.

Mickey and his team worked so well with our current freshman in college that we wouldn’t have even thought about not giving the same opportunity to her sister who is a junior in high school. Their reach with Elizabeth went beyond just the application process. They were her sideline cheerleaders guiding, albeit, sometimes nudging her, to push herself to her fullest potential. And as a parent, it was such a privilege to watch her make these educated decisions about where she wanted to go, what she thought she may want to study, and have a team with so much knowledge give her the edge she needed to facilitate those decisions. Elizabeth is thriving as a freshman at Clemson and we look forward to starting the process with her sister. With their own insight and invaluable knowledge Mickey and his team are able to gear these young adults with the confidence and autonomy they need to make decisions that impact their future. They definitely turn something that could be dreadful from a parent’s perspective into an enjoyable experience.
